Overview
You can add a driver with a licence from another country as an occasional driver. The driver must get a Quebec or Ontario licence within 6 months of moving to the province.
This applies if you want to add a driver with a licence from another country to your car insurance policy.
If you have a quote but haven’t bought your policy yet, a YouSet broker needs to review the driver’s licence and add them to your quote for you. Send your request through the Contact Us page.

Frequently asked questions
Can I add a driver with an international licence to a new quote?
Yes, but not online. A YouSet broker needs to review the driver's licence first. Send your request through the YouSet Contact Us page.
What if the driver doesn't get a Quebec or Ontario licence in time?
The driver needs to get a Quebec or Ontario licence within six months of being added to your policy. If they don't, they may no longer be allowed on your car insurance policy, and your insurance company may remove them. To avoid this, make sure the driver gets their Quebec or Ontario licence before the deadline.
