Overview
No, you need a driver’s licence to get your own car insurance policy. In Ontario, a learner’s permit is called a G1 licence. While you have a learner’s permit, a parent or guardian can add you to their car insurance policy as an occasional driver until you’re fully licensed.
This applies if you have a learner’s permit and want to get a car insurance quote.
