Overview
Your pink slip is your proof of car insurance. You can find it in your YouSet account, in the section Documents under your car insurance policy. It can take up to 48 hours after your policy is active for your documents to appear.
This applies if you have a car insurance policy with YouSet.
Note: A digital pink slip on your phone is accepted in some provinces, including Ontario and Quebec. Always check with your province's authorities to confirm.
How to find your pink slip
- Sign in to your YouSet account
- Under your car insurance policy, select Documents
- Open your policy documents. Some insurance companies include the pink slip in the same PDF as your other documents, so scroll through the PDF to find it.
Additional info
- YouSet doesn't mail printed copies. If you want a paper copy, you can download the PDF and print it yourself.
- If you're travelling outside your province or outside Canada, bring a printed copy of your pink slip, since a digital copy may not be accepted where you're driving. A paper copy also means you're never without proof of insurance if your phone dies.
Frequently asked questions
Is a digital pink slip valid if the police stop me?
Yes, a digital pink slip is accepted by police in some provinces, including Ontario and Quebec. However, you should always check with your province's authorities to confirm. Also, if you're travelling outside your province or outside Canada, keep a printed copy in your car too. It's also a good backup in case your phone dies.
