- Under your car insurance policy, select Modify Policy.
- Select Need help?
- Follow the steps on the screen. Enter the date you want your full coverage to start again.

Don’t drive your car until you get an email confirming your full coverage is back.
Do I still pay while my car insurance is on hold?
Usually, yes, but less. Some coverage stays active while your car insurance is on hold, like protection against theft or fire, so you pay a lower price for it. The amount depends on the coverage you had before.
Can I put my car insurance on hold for reasons other than travel?
Yes. You can put your car insurance on hold for any reason, as long as no one drives or moves your car while it’s on hold. For example, during a hospital stay, while you store your car for the winter, or if your car breaks down and stays parked until it’s repaired. It’s meant for periods of a month or longer.
