Frequently asked questions
Will adding a car change my price?
Yes, adding a car will likely change your price. Your price can go up or down, depending on the car's year, make and model, its value and safety features, how you use it, where you park it, and who drives it. You'll know the exact amount once YouSet reviews your request. If your price goes up, YouSet emails you before the change is final.
When is my new car covered?
Your car is covered once YouSet confirms the change. It's best to avoid driving the car until you get your confirmation email from YouSet.
Is there a discount for insuring more than one car?
Yes, insurance companies often offer a discount when you insure more than one car on the same policy. If a discount applies, it's included in the new price YouSet sends you before the change is final.
Can I add a car that belongs to someone in my household?
Yes, in most cases you can add a car owned by a family member who lives at the same address as you, such as your spouse, partner or child. When you add the car, you'll be asked for:
- The owner's full name and how they're related to you
- The car's year, make and model
- Who drives the car most often
If the owner doesn't live with you, the owner needs to insure it on their own policy.
