Overview
If you know you won't have enough money for an upcoming payment, tell YouSet before the payment date. Send a request in your YouSet account, and a YouSet team member will review your situation and contact you about your options.
This applies if you are a YouSet customer and can't make an upcoming payment.
How to inform YouSet that you can't make a payment
- Sign in to your YouSet account
- Under your insurance policy, select Modify Policy
- Select Need help?
- Follow the steps on the screen and include the payment date you can't make
- Submit your request
Why it's important to act before the payment date
- If a payment fails, your insurance company charges an NSF (non-sufficient funds) fee
- Your next payment may be higher, because the missed amount can be added to it
- If several payments fail, your policy can be cancelled
Frequently asked questions
Can I skip a payment?
No, you cannot skip a payment. A missed payment leads to fees and can put your policy at risk. Tell YouSet before the payment date so your options can be reviewed.
What if I often have trouble making my payments?
If your payment date doesn't line up well with when you have money in your account, you can ask to move it to a better date. Most insurance companies only allow one change every 12 months, so choose a date that will work for you long term. See our How to change your payment date article.
