Overview
There are several ways to lower your insurance price, including adjusting your coverage, bundling your home and car insurance, or checking which discounts you qualify for. YouSet applies eligible discounts when available, but your insurance company sets your final price.
This applies if you have a policy with YouSet, or you're getting a quote, and want to pay less.
Ways to lower your price
- Bundle your home and car insurance. You may save up to 15% by insuring both with the same insurance company.
- Opt in to a telematics program. Programs like Intact myDrive may help you save up to 25% on your car insurance.
- Choose a higher deductible. This may lower your price, but you'll pay more out of pocket if you make a claim.
- Lower your coverage limits. Lower limits may cost less, but you'll have less coverage if you make a claim.
- Remove optional coverage. Removing coverage you don't need may lower your price.
- Update your home safety information. Features like a monitored alarm system may qualify you for a discount.
Changing your coverage also means you're protected less. Make sure you still have the coverage you need before you make a change.

Frequently asked questions
Can I negotiate my price?
No. Your price is set by your insurance company, so it can't be negotiated. YouSet already compares prices and applies the discounts you're eligible for.
I found a cheaper price somewhere else. Can YouSet match it?
YouSet can't match prices from other companies, since your price is set by your insurance company.
Why did my price go up when I didn't change anything?
Insurance companies review their prices each year at renewal, based on things like the cost of repairs and claims in your area. See our Why did my price go up at renewal? article.
Can I get a discount for having no claims?
Some insurance companies offer a lower price if you haven't made any claims in recent years. YouSet applies any discount you're eligible for automatically.
