Overview
These are the official rules of the YouSet « Winter of Winning » Giveaway. To learn how the promotion works, visit our « Winter of Winning » Giveaway page.
Terms and conditions
1. Sponsor and contest period
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. Open to residents of Ontario and Quebec who have reached the age of majority. Skill-testing question required.
1.1 Sponsor. The YouSet « Winter of Winning » Giveaway (the "Contest") is sponsored by 10484750 Canada Inc. ("YouSet" or the "Sponsor"), 300-4 Place Ville-Marie, Montréal, Quebec H3B 2E7. The Sponsor may use affiliated companies, agents and promotional agencies to administer parts of the Contest.
1.2 Contest Period. The Contest begins on November 16, 2026 at 12:00:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) and ends on February 28, 2027 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET (the "Contest Period"). The Sponsor's computer is the official time-keeping device for the Contest.
1.3 How the Contest works. Eligible entrants earn entries by completing online insurance quotes with YouSet. To be eligible, a quote MUST be started through the Contest Link. Quotes started any other way do not earn entries. Entries are entered into weekly draws for $250 prizes and monthly draws for $500 prizes, as set out in these Official Rules (the "Rules").
1.4 Agreement to the Rules. By entering, entrants agree to be bound by these Rules. The Sponsor’s decisions on all matters relating to the administration of the Contest are final, subject to applicable law. For Quebec residents, nothing in these Rules limits any rights under the Consumer Protection Act (Quebec).
2. Eligibility
2.1 The Contest is open to legal residents of Ontario and Quebec who have reached the age of majority in their province of residence at the time of entry.
2.2 The Contest is open to new and returning YouSet customers. A returning customer has held a YouSet policy in the past but has no active policy. Anyone who holds an active YouSet insurance policy at the time of entry is not eligible. Eligibility is based on the time the quote is completed, so an entrant who buys a YouSet policy after completing an eligible quote remains eligible and keeps their entries.
2.3 The following people are not eligible: employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives of the Sponsor, its affiliated companies, and its advertising and promotional agencies; and the immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, siblings) and household members of any of these people, whether or not related. A household means all people living at the same residential address, including unit number.
2.4 The Sponsor may ask any entrant for proof of identity, residence or eligibility. Failing to provide proof within the time requested may result in disqualification.
3. How to enter
3.1 Quote entry. To enter, complete an online insurance quote with YouSet during the Contest Period using the Contest Link. A quote is complete when you reach the page showing your quoted price, after the loading screen. Quotes started outside the Contest Link, by phone, or through third-party websites do not qualify. You do not need to buy a policy to enter. The Sponsor's records are the sole and final determination of whether a quote was completed through the Contest Link and how many entries were earned. Any confirmation email or text message sent to an entrant is a courtesy only. It is not proof of entry, and not receiving one does not affect an entrant's eligibility.
3.2 Entries by quote type. Each eligible quote earns entries as follows:
| Quote type | Entries earned |
|---|---|
| Redirected Quote (see below) | 1 |
| Tenant insurance | 1 |
| Motorcycle insurance | 1 |
| Condo insurance | 2 |
| Car insurance | 3 |
| Homeowner insurance | 5 |
| Bundle Bonus (see 3.3) | +25 |
In some cases, YouSet can't provide its own online quote and redirects the user to one of its external partners. If you request a quote through the Contest Link and reach the page, after the loading screen, telling you that you are being redirected (a "Redirected Quote"), you earn one (1) entry, even though you do not receive a YouSet quote.
3.3 Bundle Bonus. You earn 25 bonus entries, in addition to the entries for each quote, if you request a home quote (homeowner, condo or tenant) and a car quote at the same time. You can do this by selecting both home and car on the quote start page, or by clicking "Add home to save 15%" or "Add car to save 15%" on the page that shows your quote. The Bundle Bonus can be earned once per person during the Contest Period.
3.4 Entry limits. Each person may earn entries for only one quote per product type during the Contest Period, and for only one home quote (homeowner, condo or tenant) in total. If a person completes more than one home quote, only the first one counts. Additional quotes for the same product type, whether in the same week or a later week, do not earn additional entries. A person is identified by the name, date of birth, phone number, email address and home address provided on the quote, and entries are recorded against those details.
3.5 No purchase necessary. No purchase is required to enter or win. Getting a quote is free and does not require you to buy an insurance policy or any other product. A purchase will not increase your chances of winning.
3.6 Which draws an entry counts in. Each entry counts in the weekly draw for the entry week in which the quote was completed, and in the monthly draw for that period (see Section 5). Each weekly draw includes all eligible entries from every quote type completed that week. Entries do not carry over to other weeks or months.
3.7 Invalid entries. Entries that are incomplete, false, fraudulent, made with fictitious or another person's information, generated by script, macro or other automated means, or otherwise not in accordance with these Rules are void. The Sponsor may remove duplicate or suspected fraudulent quotes, including multiple quotes from the same person (matching name, date of birth, email address or phone number), before each draw. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.
4. Prizes
4.1 Prizes available. There are 18 prizes in total, with a total approximate retail value of $5,250 CAD:
- 15 weekly prizes, one per entry week. Each is one (1) $250 digital gift card. Approximate retail value: $250 each.
- 3 monthly prizes, one each for December, January and February. Each is two (2) $250 digital gift cards, for a total of $500. Approximate retail value: $500 each.
4.2 Choosing a prize. A weekly winner chooses one prize category on the prize claim form, then chooses one gift card from that category using the link described in Section 4.4. A monthly winner chooses two prize categories on the prize claim form, which can be the same or different, then chooses one gift card from each category using that link. Category choices are final once the claim form is submitted, and gift card choices are final once made.

4.4 Prize conditions. Gift cards are delivered by email to the address provided on the claim form within 10 business days after the winner completes the claim form and correctly answers the skill-testing question. The prize is delivered as a link to choose and activate the winner's selected gift card. The winner must make their selection within thirty (30) days of the delivery email. If no selection is made within that time, the prize is forfeited and will not be awarded or replaced. Once selected, the gift card is subject to the terms and conditions of its issuer. Gift cards are subject to the terms and conditions of their issuer, including any restrictions on where and how they can be used (for example, some may require a Canadian account or be usable only in Canada). Prizes must be accepted as awarded. They cannot be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash, except at the Sponsor's sole discretion. The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, stolen or misused gift cards once delivered, or if a gift card issuer changes its terms, stops operating, or does not honour a gift card.
4.5 Substitution. If a brand is unavailable for any reason, the Sponsor may offer the winner another brand from the same category, or a gift card or prize of equal or greater value, at its sole discretion.
4.6 Sponsor not affiliated with brands. The brands listed are not sponsors of the Contest and are not affiliated with it. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
5. Draws and odds
5.1 Random draws. Each draw is a random selection from all eligible entries received for that draw's entry period. Draws take place at approximately 11:00 a.m. ET by the Sponsor or its authorized representative on the Tuesday after each entry week closes. For each draw, the Sponsor will also select alternates in case a selected entrant is disqualified or cannot be reached.
5.2 Draw schedule. All entry weeks start at 12:00:00 a.m. ET on the first day and end at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on the last day.

5.3 Odds. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for each draw's entry period, and on the number of entries each entrant has earned.
5.4 No eligible entries. If there are no eligible entries for a draw, the prize for that draw will not be awarded.
6. Winner notification and claim
6.1 Notification. The Sponsor will notify each selected entrant by email, at the address provided with their entry, within one (1) business day of the draw. The email will include a link to an online prize claim form.
6.2 Claim deadline. The selected entrant must complete the claim form within seven (7) days of the notification email being sent. If the selected entrant cannot be reached, does not complete the claim form on time, or does not meet any condition in this Section, they forfeit the prize and the Sponsor may select an alternate in accordance with these Rules. The Sponsor is not responsible for emails that are not received, including emails filtered as spam.
6.3 Conditions to be declared a winner. Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must:
- correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a multi-step mathematical skill-testing question on the claim form. Only one (1) attempt is allowed. An incorrect answer results in disqualification;
- confirm their full name, date of birth, phone number, email address and home address. These must match their entry, or any differences must be explained and verified to the Sponsor's satisfaction (for example, a change of address or a correction of a typing error);
- confirm that they meet all eligibility requirements and have complied with these Rules;
- choose their prize under Section 4.2; and
- accept and electronically sign, by typing their full name and the date, the declaration and release on the claim form (the "Declaration and Release"), which confirms eligibility and compliance with these Rules, acceptance of the prize as awarded, and releases the Released Parties (Section 8.3) from all liability in connection with the Contest and the prize.
6.4 Verification. The Sponsor may verify any selected entrant's information and entries before awarding a prize. A selected entrant whose entry is found to be ineligible, duplicate or fraudulent will be disqualified.
7. Limits on winning
7.1 Each person may win a maximum of one (1) weekly prize and one (1) monthly prize during the Contest Period. A person is identified by the name, date of birth, phone number and email address provided on their entry. Prize limits apply per person, not per household.
7.2 A person who has already won a weekly prize may still win a monthly prize, and a person who has already won a monthly prize may still win a weekly prize.
7.3 If a person who has already won a weekly prize is selected in a later weekly draw, or a person who has already won a monthly prize is selected in a later monthly draw, that selection will be skipped and another entry will be drawn.
8. General conditions
8.1 Sponsor's decisions. The Sponsor's decisions on all matters relating to the Contest, including eligibility, the validity of entries and the selection of winners, are final, subject to applicable law.
8.2 Disqualification. The Sponsor may disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, acts in violation of these Rules, or acts in a disruptive, fraudulent or unsportsmanlike way.
8.3 Release of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, by entering, entrants release and hold harmless the Sponsor, its parent, affiliated and related companies, its advertising and promotional agencies, and each of their directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives (the "Released Parties") from all liability for any loss, damage or injury in connection with the Contest, the entry process, or the acceptance, use or misuse of any prize.
8.4 Technical issues. The Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected or unrecorded entries or claim forms; for any failure of a website, email, computer, network or software; or for any event beyond their reasonable control that affects the Contest.
8.5 Changes to the Contest. The Sponsor may, at any time and at its sole discretion, subject to applicable law, modify, suspend or end the Contest, in whole or in part, or modify these Rules. This includes where fraud, technical failure or any other factor affects the integrity or proper operation of the Contest. The Sponsor will make reasonable efforts to award prizes from eligible entries received before any change.
8.6 Publicity. On the claim form, winners will be asked whether they consent to the Sponsor publishing their first name, last name, city and province in connection with the Contest, without compensation. Consent is optional and does not affect eligibility to receive a prize.
8.7 Privacy. Personal information collected for the Contest is used to administer the Contest, verify eligibility, select and contact winners, and deliver prizes, in accordance with YouSet's Privacy Policy. Entering the Contest does not sign you up for marketing emails. Any marketing consent is asked for separately. Personal information may be shared with service providers that help administer the Contest (such as the online claim form provider and gift card provider), which may store it outside Quebec or Canada.
8.8 Taxes and costs. Winners are responsible for any taxes and for any costs not expressly included in the prize.
8.9 Governing law. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. These Rules are governed by the laws of the province in which the entrant resides and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
8.10 Language. These Rules are available in English and French. If there is any inconsistency between the two versions, the French version prevails for residents of Quebec and the English version prevails for residents of Ontario.
8.11 Questions. Questions about the Contest, or requests for a copy of these Rules, can be sent to support@youset.ca.
8.12 Winners. The Sponsor may publish the first name, last name, city and province of winners who have consented to publicity under Section 8.6.
8.13 Not affiliated with social media platforms. The Contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Meta, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or any other social media platform.
8.14 Rules prevail. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between these Rules and any Contest advertising, promotional material, or other communication (including emails, social media posts and the website), these Rules prevail.
8.15 Severability. If any provision of these Rules is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
