Overview
No, a policy can't be transferred to someone else, since it's in the name of the main policyholder. If someone is buying your home or moving in after you leave, they'll need to get a policy of their own. Once they do, you can update your policy with your new address or cancel it.
This applies if you have a YouSet policy.
Your options
- If you're moving, change the address on your policy to your new address. See our How to change your address article.
- If you no longer need insurance, cancel your policy. If you cancel before your renewal date, your insurance company may charge a cancellation fee.
- If you sold your car, see our What to do with your car insurance after you sell your car article.
