Overview
Your policy renews automatically at the end of each year. To stop it from renewing, send a non-renewal request in your YouSet account before your expiry date. Your policy then ends on your expiry date, and you don't pay a cancellation fee.
This applies if you have a YouSet policy and don't want it to renew.
Before you send your request
- Send it early. Your request must be received at least 2 days before your expiry date
- Get your new insurance ready. Make sure your new policy starts on your expiry date, so you're never without insurance

Frequently asked questions
My policy ends on July 1. Should my last day be June 30 or July 1?
Your policy should end on July 1. Start your new insurance on July 1 too, so there’s no gap in your insurance.
Can I change my mind after I send my request?
Yes, as long as your policy hasn’t been cancelled yet. Send a request from your YouSet account as soon as possible, and YouSet will let your insurance company know.
Why was I charged after I asked not to renew?
Payments are usually scheduled one week before they’re taken. If your request arrived after your next payment was already scheduled, that payment may still go through. You’ll get it back automatically within 30 days.
