Overview
After you cancel, your insurance company sends a final bill. It can include your price for the days you were insured, plus any cancellation fee. If you asked not to renew, a payment scheduled before your request may still be taken, and it's refunded automatically.
This applies if money was taken from your account after you cancelled your policy or asked not to renew it.
If you cancelled
Your final bill can include:
- Your price for the days you were insured, up to your cancellation date
- A cancellation fee, if you cancelled before your expiry date. This is a fee your insurance company charges when you end your policy early
If you asked not to renew
Payments are usually scheduled one week before they're taken. If your request arrived after a payment for the new year was scheduled, it may still go through. You get that money back automatically within 30 days.
