I’m moving. Can I transfer my home insurance to my new place?

Yes, in most cases, you can transfer your existing home insurance policy to your new address by simply updating your information. This ensures that you remain protected during your move, with no interruption in your coverage.

Moving within Ontario or Quebec?

YouSet currently operates in Quebec and Ontario. If you're moving within these two provinces, there are two possibilities:

  1. Nationwide Insurers

If you're insured with one of the insurers below, which operate nationwide, great news! We can simply update your address and transfer your existing policy to your new home:

    • Economical
    • Wawanesa
    • Intact

To update your address, you will need to submit a request through your YouSet account. Once you submit your request, our team will process the changes whitin 48 hours and send you a confirmation by email.

    1. Sign in to your YouSet account
    2. Under your Home insurance policy, select « Modify Policy »
    3. Select « Address »
    4. Follow the steps that appear on the screen

  1. Provincial insurers

If you are not insured with one of the above carriers, we cannot transfer your policy because your insurer does not operate in the province you're moving to. But no worries!

You can get a new quote in less than 4 minutes. We’ll help you find the best coverage for your new address with one of our many insurers. Once you’ve purchased your new insurance policy, please follow the steps to cancel your previous one.

Moving outside Quebec or Ontario?

If you're relocating to a province other than Ontario or Quebec, unfortunately we won’t be able to transfer your policy. In this case, you will need to cancel your current insurance policy before your move.
